The Woman Who Married a Bear Sconce

The Woman Who Married a Bear Sconce

$400.00Sold out

Stories of women marrying bears appear throughout time across the northern hemisphere.
These two are courting in autumn in an abandoned apple orchard that is turning back into oak woodlands and being taken over by blackberry brambles. They’re sharing a picnic of salmon and acorn-honey cake.

Hand-cut and embossed copper on a hand-built wall shelf.

Dimensions:
13"x 6 1/4" x 3 3/4"

This shelf was crafted with care and attention to detail by my sweetheart, Roy Arthur Blodgett, from beautiful old growth redwood. Old growth wood like this is an incredibly precious material that we take great effort to salvage from local demolition sites. The wood is finished with a mix of natural dark tung oil and citrus solvent.
